Cosmic Influence on the Sun-Earth Environment
SOHO satellite data reveals geophysical changes before sudden changes in the Earth's Sun-Earth environment. The influence of extragalactic changes on the Sun as well as the Sun-Earth environment seems to be both periodic and episodic. The periodic changes in terms of solar maxima and minima occur every 11 years, whereas the episodic changes can happen at any time. Episodic changes can be monito...

Letter to the Editor Long-duration cosmic ray modulation from a Sun-Earth L1 orbit
We analyse cosmic ray hits impacting the detector system of the Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer aboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory spacecraft. These observations allow us to study the modulation of cosmic rays over a 4 year period (1996-2000) running from solar minimum to maximum, from a Sun-Earth L1 Lagrangian orbit. The modulation, at the 45-50% level is consistent with cosmic rays...
متن کاملInfluence of environmental conditions on the earth pit resistance using earth pit simulator
Introduction: Electrocution is the cause of many deaths in the world annually, that electric current passing between the body and earth can be the reason; thus, it is of great importance to construct the ground protection system using earth pit. This study aimed to investigate the effective environmental conditions on the earthchr('39')s pit resistance using the simulation method. Materials an...
متن کاملInconstant sun: how solar evolution has affected cosmic and ultraviolet radiation exposure over the history of life on Earth.
Four billion years ago, sea-level UV exposure was more than 400 times as intense as today, the dose from solar cosmic rays was five times present levels, and galactic cosmic rays accounted for only about 10% their current contribution to sea-level radiation doses. Exposure to cosmic radiation accounts for about 10% of natural background radiation exposure today and includes dose from galactic c...
